Ivey Community Engagement Club

Students teaching students.

We aim to engage Ivey students and faculty with London youth who do not traditionally consider a business education by teaching business concepts through Ivey’s case method.

Our Main Pillars

Our main pillars

1

Diversity of Thought

Build an HBA community that recognizes the need for business leadership in a wide range of fields

2

Socioeconomic Equity

Support students who traditionally would not pursue a business education

3

Community Engagement

Provide Ivey students with more opportunity to give back to the local community

How does ICEC Translate these goals into action?

To help students consider a career path in business and at Ivey, ICEC programming offers case study classes, Ivey entry admissions support, training workshops, and mentorship.

Bringing the case study method to the classroom.

In ICEC's 1 hour after-school, monthly classroom engagements, students solve business cases covering a range industries and situations, share their analysis in an engaging class discussion, and develop a mastery of business concepts through learning from their peers. Case topics covered include:

  • Entrepreneurship

  • Organizational behavior

  • Accounting

  • Communication

What is the case method?

The case method is an innovative approach to business education that moves beyond traditional textbook learning. It involves the use of real business cases as the basis for classroom discussions and analysis.
